Where The Next Egg began: We launched in 2019 with the goal of giving people the power to self-direct their 401(k)s and IRAs, so that we can invest our money in building vibrant communities. We shared resources, built a community of peers who have learned from one another, and gained access to low-cost financial products for our members. By joining The Next Egg, you could access our past resources, conversations, and webinars.
Now, we are shifting directions. In 2021, the Next Egg’s leadership team began to question many assumptions on which we were founded. You can read about that here. For the first 6 months of 2022, we’ll be holding dialogs with groups large and small, including these upcoming events. We invite you to join our events and the broader Next Egg network if you are interested in learning more or even helping shape our new direction. We’re grappling with questions like:
Are 401(k)s and IRAs irreparably broken?
